Stephen Johnston Graduated from University of Ulster in 2010 with an award winning sell out final show. 'Perceptions' is Johnston's highly anticipated first solo show. Johnston's painting is inspired by nature, inanimate objects and the figurative, and plays on the interaction of these things by taking the ordinary and turning it into the extraordinary. Johnston urges the viewer to not just look at his paintings, but to see them and ask questions of them. the subtle realism of these paintings is a vehicle for Johnston's private thoughts, memories from his past and his constant questioning of everyday life and the culture that surrounds us.
